A person died after falling under a mound of earth

A person has lost his life in Halagala area of Dangovita after being buried under a mound of earth.

The police said that the accident took place yesterday evening when it collapsed while cutting a mound of earth.

A 57-year-old man who was a resident of Kurunduwatta area of Dangowita died after being buried under the mound of earth.

In the initial investigations conducted by the police, it has been revealed that the deceased was cutting a mound of earth when the mound collapsed from a height of about 15 meters and he was buried under it.

Dangovita police are investigating the accident.
