Mathews enter IPL auction at highest base price

Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Mathews has been named among the players grouped under the highest initial bid in the Indian Premier League player auction.

The Indian Premier League player auction is scheduled to be held on December 19 in Dubai.

There are 1,166 players registered for this year’s player auction, and a maximum of 77 players are to be bought from the teams.

It is reported that Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Mathews is included in the Indian Rupees 2 crore category which has the highest initial bid.

In addition to that, Australia’s One Day World Cup winning team Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Steve Smith, Josh English and Sean Abbott have also been included in that group.

Wanindu Hasaranga has been grouped in the list with a base bid of INR one and a half crore.
