Land in Maduwanwela Chateau to Tobacco Company

The cabinet has given approval to give a part of the land called Maduwanwela Nendagama Watta belonging to Maduwanwela Valley with historical value to Ceylon Tobacco Company Limited on lease basis for a cultivation project.

The relevant cabinet proposal states:

Lanka Tobacco Company Limited has submitted a request to provide a part of the land called Maduwanwela Nedagama Watta belonging to the Land Reform Commission in the domain of Panamura Village Officer in Embilipitiya Divisional Secretariat of Ratnapura District for a cultivation project.

The project report submitted by the said company has been evaluated and according to this, 87 acres 3 roods 25 perches from the land called Maduwanwela Nedagama Watta to Ceylon Tobacco Company Limited for a long term lease basis for a period of 30 years for a forestry project. The cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the minister.’
