The second day of the first Test between the visiting Pakistan team and the Australian team concluded on Friday (Dec 15).

The visiting team made a comeback in the match following the impressive performance by the Pakistani opening batsmen.

In their first innings, Pakistan concluded the day with a total of 132 runs, having lost two wickets. The opening batsman, Imam Ul Haq, contributed 38* runs from 136 deliveries, while Khurram Shahzad remained unbeaten with a score of 7 runs.

Abdullah Shafiq, who started the batting alongside Imam, accumulated a total of 42 runs (from 121 deliveries), while the opening partnership for the first wicket between the two players was 74 runs.

In bowling, Mitchell Stuck and Nathan Lyon took one wicket each.

Australia, who won the toss and batted first in the match in Perth, started the day two at 346 for the loss of 5 wickets, and they posted a formidable first innings total of 487.

Mitchell Marsh contributed significantly to the Australian innings with a commendable score of 90 runs from 107 balls, in addition to David Warner’s 164 runs.

Debutant Armer Jamal showcased his talent by taking an impressive 6 wickets for 111 runs.

Alex Carey missed an opportunity to dismiss Abdullah Shafique today, however, his inability to do so became a noteworthy incident that garnered global attention.
