India secured a remarkable triumph by two wickets in the first T20I encounter against Australia today.
Australia batted first and managed to score 208 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the match held in Visakhapatnam.
Josh Inglis and Steven Smith contributed 110 and 52 runs respectively.
India, on the other hand, played the reply innings and recorded a thrilling victory in the last ball of the match with the loss of 8 wickets.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan scored 80 and 58 runs respectively, while Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 22 runs, including a last-ball six, sealed the victory for India.
However, Rinku’s hit over the long on fence off Aussie pacer Sean Abbott’s final delivery was not considered a six for India.
This was due to Abbott’s overstepping, resulting in a no-ball. As a result, India had already won the game at that point, making Rinku’s hit irrelevant to the final score.
