Construction of 3rd Sour Banana Export Processing Center completed

Construction of Sri Lanka’s third Sour Banana Export Processing Center has been completed. Banana processing for export will start from January.

The construction of the third sour banana export processing factory in our country has been completed by now. The testing of the machinery of the sour banana processing center built in Kachchigalara area of Hambantota was conducted yesterday (15) under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera.

The Ministry of Agriculture has managed to establish three sour banana cultivation zones and processing centers for export in our country within a year.

The first of these has been established in Rajangana, the second in Jaffna and the third sour banana export processing center has been established in Kachchigalara area. These banana processing centers have been established under the financial allocation of the Agriculture Sector Innovation Program of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The amount spent by the project for the Kachchigal Sour Banana Center is 60 million rupees.

So far, 800 acres in Rajangana, 200 acres in Jaffna and 1000 acres in Hambantota, Ambilipitiya region have been cultivated with sour bananas. Up to 8000 acres of Hambantha region have been identified as suitable for cultivation of sour bananas.

These centers process the sour bananas of this country, which are exported to the Dubai market under the name of Baby Banana, in accordance with international standards.

The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, who expressed his opinion, said that high-quality banana seedlings will be provided under the high-density cultivation system, as well as new technology, the application of minimum amount of fertilizers and the production of bananas will be aimed at export. He also mentioned that since bananas are being produced with the aim of applying and exporting, there are requests from several other countries including China.

3வது புளிப்பு வாழை ஏற்றுமதி பதப்படுத்தும் மையத்தின் கட்டுமானம் நிறைவடைந்தது

இலங்கையின் மூன்றாவது புளிப்பு வாழை ஏற்றுமதி பதப்படுத்தும் நிலையத்தின் நிர்மாணப் பணிகள் நிறைவடைந்துள்ளன. ஏற்றுமதிக்கான வாழைப்பழ செயலாக்கம் ஜனவரி முதல் தொடங்கும்.
நமது நாட்டில் மூன்றாவது புளிப்பு வாழை ஏற்றுமதி பதப்படுத்தும் தொழிற்சாலையின் கட்டுமானப் பணிகள் தற்போது நிறைவடைந்துள்ளன. ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை கச்சிகலர பிரதேசத்தில் நிர்மாணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள புளிப்பு வாழைப்பழ பதப்படுத்தும் நிலையத்தின் இயந்திர பரிசோதனை நேற்று (15) விவசாய மற்றும் பெருந்தோட்ட கைத்தொழில் அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த அமரவீர தலைமையில் இடம்பெற்றது.
ஒரு வருடத்திற்குள் நமது நாட்டில் ஏற்றுமதிக்கான மூன்று புளிப்பு வாழை சாகுபடி மண்டலங்களையும் பதப்படுத்தும் மையங்களையும் நிறுவ விவசாய அமைச்சகம் நிர்வகித்துள்ளது.

இவற்றில் முதலாவது ராஜாங்கனையிலும், இரண்டாவது யாழ்ப்பாணத்திலும், மூன்றாவது புளிப்பு வாழை ஏற்றுமதி பதப்படுத்தும் நிலையம் கச்சிகலர பிரதேசத்திலும் நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ளது. விவசாய அமைச்சின் விவசாயத் துறை புத்தாக்கத் திட்டத்தின் நிதி ஒதுக்கீட்டின் கீழ் இந்த வாழைப்பழ பதப்படுத்தும் நிலையங்கள் நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ளன.
கச்சிக்கல் புளிப்பு வாழை மையத்திற்காக இத்திட்டத்தினால் செலவிடப்பட்ட தொகை 60 மில்லியன் ரூபா.
இதுவரை ராஜாங்கனையில் 800 ஏக்கரும், யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் 200 ஏக்கரும், அம்பாந்தோட்டை மற்றும் அம்பிலிப்பிட்டிய பிரதேசத்தில் 1000 ஏக்கரும் புளிப்பு வாழை பயிரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை பிரதேசத்தில் 8000 ஏக்கர் வரை புளிப்பு வாழை பயிரிட ஏற்றதாக இனங்காணப்பட்டுள்ளது.
EHA EBB என்ற பெயரில் துபாய் சந்தைக்கு ஏற்றுமதி செய்யப்படும் இந்நாட்டின் புளிப்பு வாழைப்பழங்களுக்கு சர்வதேச தரத்திற்கு ஏற்ப இந்த மையங்கள் செயலாக்கத்தை மேற்கொள்கின்றன.
இதன்போது கருத்துத் தெரிவித்த விவசாய அமைச்சர் திரு.மகிந்த அமரவீர, உயர்தர பயிரிடும் முறையின் கீழ் உயர்தர வாழைக்கன்றுகள் வழங்கப்படவுள்ளதுடன், புதிய தொழில்நுட்பம், குறைந்தபட்ச உரப் பயன்பாடு மற்றும் உற்பத்தி வாழைப்பழங்கள் ஏற்றுமதி இலக்காக இருக்கும்
